Plaza de las Tendillas will host the third Festival del Aceite Córdoba Virgen Extra from 30 January to 1 February, an event dedicated to extra virgin olive oil with activities for everyone.
For three days, the centre of Córdoba will become a showcase for extra virgin olive oil, with free tastings, live cooking demonstrations and gastronomic experiences to discover the quality of the province’s “liquid gold”.
The programme begins on Friday 30 January with a tasting led by Baena PDO at 11:00 and another organised by AEMO at 17:30. Chef Kisko Varona, from El Olivo restaurant in Luque, will give a live cooking demonstration at 13:30, while MasterChef runner-up Eva Millán will lead another culinary demonstration at 19:00, together with Vinavin and AEMO.
On Saturday 31 January, the programme continues with an ACORA (Almazaras de Córdoba) tasting at 11:00 and a Priego de Córdoba PDO tasting at 17:30. At 13:30, chef Matías Vega, renowned for his knowledge of salmorejo, will give a cooking demonstration with ACORA. Later, at 19:00, it will be the turn of Álex Logon and José Ambrosio, from the Piamonte D’Ambrosio ice cream shop, together with Priego de Córdoba PDO.
The organisers emphasise that the tastings are free and led by experts, giving visitors the chance to explore extra virgin olive oil culture, discover its nuances and learn to appreciate it.
